7 Signs You Have Found the One

If you are in a relationship and it is getting serious, you might be looking for signs you have found the one. When you are in the relationship bubble, it is sometimes difficult to see the reality, but these signs you have found the one may help you open your eyes to what is really there and whether it is worth pursuing further.

1 – Conversations

If the conversations you are having include future plans where both of you are involved, then this may be one of the signs you have found the one. If it is all ‘me me me’ rather than ‘we we we,’ then you may want to consider whether this person sees the relationship going anywhere.

2 – Compatibility

Opposites sometimes attract and couples don’t always share the same interests. Just because your partner is an avid reader and you wouldn’t even like to read a page doesn’t mean the relationship is doomed to fail. You should consider your compatibility in terms of activities and values though. Do you share the same values? Does your partner seem to be interested in your passions and interests? Do they seem genuinely interested in what you do? If they don’t, it might be time to question your compatibility.

3 – Pathways

One of the things to question is whether you are traveling along the same pathways. I know that people change and it is very difficult to say where you are going to be in five years, but if one of you envisions a life of traveling and seeing the world whilst the other envisions wedding bells and babies, you may not be on the same trajectory and it is best to be honest from the outset.

– Private and Public

Consider how this person treats you in private and public. Is he or she proud to be around you and do they brag about you to their friends, or do they avoid being seen with you and say very little to their friends about you? Are they secretive or ashamed to be seen with you? These can sometimes be telltale signs.

5 – Trust

Honesty really is the best policy when it comes to relationships. Do you feel as though you can trust this person or is there a question mark hanging over everything they say and do? This can of course say a lot about you and your ability to trust someone, as you may have been hurt before. But it can also speak volumes about them and how vulnerable they make you feel. Trust your intuition, but avoid spending time trawling through text messages. If you suspect something, just ask him.

6 – Passion Fades

Remember, the passion can fade over time and when the day to day drudgery of life and all its pressures takes hold, it can sometimes spell the end of the sizzling nights under the stars. What you should be left with is someone you can trust, depend upon and whose company you genuinely enjoy. Consider whether this is just infatuation or whether this has a longer lifespan.

7 – Communication

Communication is the key and discussing what you want and where you see things going can sometimes put the doubts you have to bed. It may be that they have similar concerns, but if you communicate it can ensure that you can resolve any issues and have a healthy and happy relationship that will pass the test of time.

Sometimes we need to trust our intuition, and if something just doesn’t feel right then ask yourself why. Does anyone else have any hints and tips for deciding whether you have found your life partner?
