1 – Daily Sunscreen

The UV rays from the sun are the No 1 cause of wrinkles. Try reducing your exposure to the sun. However, if you are going to be out in the sun, sun-block is essential. Slather sunscreen (SPF 30) on before you charge outside to enjoy a wrinkle-free day in the sun.

2 – Adjust Your Diet

Foods like berries, fish, soy and fruits and vegetables help in boosting collagen (30% of the protein contents in our bodies) and increasing cell turnover. They are packed with antioxidants and will defend your skin against environmental damage. Green and black teas are also full of antioxidants. The brighter the color of your food, the better it helps in warding off wrinkles.

3 – Rethink your Workout

Workouts such as Yoga and Pilates help in boosting oxygen, giving your skin a lovely glow. It can also tone your muscles better and prevent your skin from sagging. It also does wonders in preventing breakouts, fighting stress and making you look younger. So be sure to work up a sweat!

4 – Drink more Water

Drinking 6-8 glasses of water a day helps skin keeps its moisture and elasticity. Water also flushes out any harmful toxins, which can have negative impact on your skin. When your skin is properly hydrated, it looks healthy and radiant.

5 – Sleep

Getting enough sleep is paramount in keeping your skin thick and healthy. When you don’t get enough sleep, the body produces excess cortisol, a hormone that breaks down skin cells. Moreover, the way you sleep matters too. Sleeping on your side or face down may get sleep lines which can cause wrinkles in the long term.  The best position to sleep is on your back.

6 – Use moisturiser

Moisturisers will not only hydrate skin but also stimulate the production of collagen. Moisturise right after you have washed your face, while your skin is still damp, to lock in moisture.  It will keep your skin soft and supple.

7 – End your bad habits

Cigarette smoking ages skin. It contains ingredients that break down collagen. Alcohol has also been proven to increase the ageing process by causing wrinkles, loss of collagen, elasticity, redness, dehydration and puffiness.
