When your relationship first began, any doubt or concern you felt may have been buried beneath excitement and adoration of your new partner. Over time, a toxic relationship- in which you and your partner bring out the worst in one another- may leave your enthusiasm fading. Some clear signs indicate that your relationship may not be as good for you as you think.
1 – Lack of support
It is not always possible for each partner to always be supportive in the desired moments. But if your goals and dreams are always met with criticism or a lack of support from your partner, this indicates toxicity in the relationship.
2 – Everything is about him
Every time you have a problem, your partner shows a lack of interest or leaves you feeling neglected and unimportant.
3 – You find yourself unable to enjoy good moments with this person
Every day brings another challenge. It seems as though your partner is always raising issues. Their attempt to control your behavior is an attempt to control your happiness.
4 – You are uncomfortable being yourself around your partner
You don’t feel free to speak your mind. You feel like you have to put on a different face just to be accepted by that person.
5 – Troubled Conflict Resolution
Name-calling, shouting or ignoring one another has little place in the healthy solving of problems. If one partner is not allowed to have a say in what the two of you do, control issues may be at play.
